Habitat for Humanity is at the North Bay Market!

Come one, come all to see the Habitat for Humanity booth this Saturday from 8am-1pm at the North Bay Market located beside the Museum and bus terminal! Our community events assistant, Jen, will be there to answer any and all questions you may have. She can give you updates on the current build, information on the fundraising event happening next month or even get you on your way to volunteering!

Feronia Build Update

The building of the Feronia house has once again commenced as we retire that winter chill. Once the weather broke in March, Bob Wilson and his crew donated all materials and labour to install the electrical service and interior wiring. Now being summer, we have the plumbing installed, thanks to Marshall Well Drilling and Ed Laverty, with the HVAC soon on it’s way. The kitchen was recently dropped off at the house with help from the Bracebridge and Huntsville ReStores and will be installed very soon. Once that is all complete, we will be asking for the help of our dedicated and loyal volunteers to come in, who without, we could not be where we are today.

RBC and Home Depot are just a few of the groups we have coming in. RBC has decided to get a little creative and requested a Women’s Build day with pink hard hats. To meet their request, we have received a donation of pink hard hats from Gateway Home Hardware. Each volunteer build day will have lunches and beverages donated to us by Tim Hortons, The Sub Place, Food Basics, Mike and Lori’s No Frills and Parker’s Your Independent Grocer. After the volunteers have worked their magic, next to go in will be the landscaping to make the house look more like a home on the outside.
