UPDATE: Tournament postponed!
Due to rain, rain, a little bit more rain, slightly more rain, and – wait for it – squishy worms coming up out of the ground… as a result of rain, the tournament has been postponed until July 4th. All times and events remain the same otherwise, just the day changes. See you on American Independence Day folks!

Here’s the original post:

It’s that time of year again… time to get in golfing shape! Grab the old palm sander* and head down to your local driving range because the 7th Annual Habitat for Humanity North Bay Blue Sky Region Charity Golf Tournament is soon to get underway.

Get yourself in fine golfing form because the tournament is just around the corner. This year, the tournament has been moved to Osprey Links Golf Course in Callander, but all the same great prizes and contests will still be held. It’s on Thursday, May 23rd, and it’s still only $85 for a round, a shared cart, and a great dinner.

Once again this year, you can enter a whole team (4 players) and play in the corporate, municipal or community challenge, or just sign up yourself and spend the afternoon meeting great people while playing North Bay’s newest course.

To sign up download our golf tournament registration form, fill it out and send it in, or contact us and someone will call you back soon to help you out.

Good luck everyone, and hope to see you all on the first tee.

* Actual use of power tools on the course will probably get you escorted off the course. That being said, it also will get you asked to come help us build our next home, so maybe it’s not all bad!

Sign a 2×4, build more than just a house

Make your mark with our annual 2×4 Signing

Every signed 2x4 is used in the construction of a brand new house for a partner family.

Every signed 2×4 is used in the construction of a brand new house for a partner family.

The 2×4 signing this year will be on Friday, June 21st and Saturday, June 22nd in the Walmart entrance to Northgate Square mall. By making a donation and signing a 2×4, you are leaving a lasting mark in the community – you will be able to tell your children and grandchildren for decades to come that you helped build a quality house (your name is even inside the walls!) and you can feel good knowing that that house will be a decent and safe home for a deserving family every day of each of those years.

Once again this year, if you donate $10 or more, we’ll also throw in a kinda goofy-looking but still quite wearable Habitat for Humanity NBBS hat!
Be it the good feeling you’ll get or the weirdly shaped hat you’ll score, make your mark on this community – come out and sign a 2×4 with us.

Call for Volunteers
Any and all community members willing to spend a couple of hours either day helping meet-and-greet would be most welcome. The chance to help Habitat North Bay is one thing, but think of all the old friends you’ll greet and new friends you’ll meet – what a great way to spend some time! If you’re interested in volunteering, please contact us and we’ll have someone get right back to you.
